Harbour Dues & Charges Reminder
Published 19:11 on 3 Mar 2025
We would kindly remind harbour users that all vessels (including tenders, paddleboards, jet skis, canoes, kayaks, SUPs and windsurfers) using Chichester Harbour have a statutory obligation to pay harbour dues and to display their harbour dues plaque each year.
The revenue derived from harbour dues and mooring fees is used by Chichester Harbour Conservancy to meet the full cost of the harbour's management. This includes, giving advice and assistance, maintenance of navigational aids and the enforcement of byelaws. Harbour dues apply whether your boat is kept on a permanent mooring, in one of the many marinas or if you occasionally use the harbour.
With the receipt of payment a plaque is issued, which must be affixed on the port side aft of the hull. The charge though will be considered 'not paid' unless the plaque is attached to the vessel as previously described.
The owner of any vessel evading payment or not displaying a plaque is liable to a penalty three times the amount of the charge.
