Women on the Water 2023
Women-on-the-Water is a great opportunity for our women members to get out on the water together in a supportive group focused on developing confidence and skills. The event is informal and is an opportunity to sail with people you know, as well as make new friends. The sailing will be fun and takes place in a "no pressure" environment. The group has always been mixed ability - ranging from total beginners to very experienced sailors. Our aim is to encourage and help each other on the water and socialise in between sailing with some snacks on East Head.
You don't need to own a boat or be able to sail to take part. We can match you up to sail with one of our more experienced members and all the Club dinghy fleet will be free to try out. We'll also have some of our great women instructors on hand to help or provide support from a Club safety boat. The WoW 2023 session will take place on Saturday 24th June.
Although the session is completely free, please be sure to sign up online (by clicking here). This is so we know the numbers, can sort out any crewing requests, and can arrange the consent forms needed if you would like to use a Club dinghy.
We've also set up a Whatsapp group for all women members to keep in touch. Kathryn Depaepe is the admin. You join by logging in to your WWSC account and going here. You can find contact details for other members via the Members Directory).
