2022 RYA Powerboat Level 2 - Course 1

There are two courses scheduled and we may need to reallocate members between them to optimise numbers. You should book on the event which is your 1st choice and you will be asked on the Form if you can make the alternate date (6-7 August) if necessary. Please only pay when your ticket is confirmed and we send you the invoice.

This two-day entry level course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC). The ICC is usually required if you want to hire a Powerboat abroad.

Leading to the RYA's PBL2 certificate the course focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed, and collision regulations. It is open to members 12 years old and above. No previous boating experience is required and more experienced powerboat drivers could use it to update/improve their skills. PBL2 is a requirement for those wishing to become Dinghy Instructors.
