Early Sprints

Our "Sprints" Race Series offer members a different type of race. On each tide we will run 3 very short races (target time for each race to be about 20 minutes) in a short course around laid marks. The aim is to allow sailors to develop & practice their starting and mark rounding techniques while enjoying close quarter tactical racing.

We want to encourage all racers whether from Class 1 or 2 to try these out and will make sure our Start lines are long enough to prevent any jostling. We also hope that our more competent older junior will join in as an alternative to booking a ticket for the parallel Oppie & Topper Club sessions. Parents of such juniors can register their interest via WhatsApp.

Our Sailing Instructions provide more information on how we run our races and include a full description of the Sausage-Triangle-Sausage courses we use in these types of race.

Dates

This event encompases the following:

• Races 1-3 : 26 May, 13:45 - 15:15
• Races 4-6 : 9 June, 14:00 - 15:30
• Races 7-9 : 23 June, 12:45 - 14:15
• Races 10-12 : 21 July, 11:45 - 13:15
