Safety & Power Boat Training

We're keen to encourage more members to get involved in supporting our on-the-water activities by training as Safety Boat Assistants or Safety Boat Drivers.

No previous experience is required.
Those without an RYA Powerboat Level 2 (PB2) qualification will train as Safety Boat Assistants, while those who already hold PB2 (or higher) will train as Safety Boat Drivers.

Safety Boat Assistants play a vital role in lookout, communication, recovery and supporting sailors, while Safety Boat Drivers focus on boat handling and decision-making on the water. Training will run together, as the roles work closely and share many core skills.

This is a great opportunity to build practical skills, increase our pool of safety cover, and help keep sailing at the club safe and well supported.

This ticket is for a one day course, no prior experience required. This is a free course to encourage more to become involved in this type of role.
