Women on the Water 2021
Women-on-the-Water is a great opportunity for our women members to get out on the water together in a supportive group focused on developing confidence and skills. The events are informal and are an opportunity to sail with people you know, as well as make new friends. The sailing will be fun and take place in a "no pressure" environment. The group has always been mixed ability - ranging from total beginners to very experienced sailors. Our aim is to encourage and help each other on the water and socialise in between sailing with some snacks on East Head. You can read Anita Russell's article on our last event here.
You don't need to own a boat or be able to sail to take part. We can match you up to sail with one of our more experienced members and all the Club dinghy fleet will be free to try out. We'll also have some of our great women instructors on hand to help or provide support from a Club safety boat. This year we have planned two sessions:
Although it's completely free, please be sure to sign up online (by clicking on one of the dates above). This is so we know the numbers, can sort out any crewing requests, and can arrange the consent forms needed if you would like to use a Club dinghy.
We also plan to set up a Whatsapp group for those who join for easy communication, so please let Julia Launhard know if you want to be added to the group (contact details are in the online Members Directory).
