New jetties at Itchenor

The Harbour Conservancy has launched a consultation on a proposal to extend significantly their jetty at Itchenor and improve the Harbourmaster's Offices. Itchenor SC has also obtained permission to replace its jetties and add a pontoon in the channel off their Club. The satellite image shows the proposed new jetties and pontoon in red.

The Harbourmaster wants to offer better facilities for yachts visiting Itchenor by increasing the public jetty further into the channel, lengthening the pontoon at the end, and developing the shore-based facilities at Itchenor.

Itchenor Sailing Club's changes are to address safety issues for those launching dinghies and transferring between the Club and keel boats kept on moorings in the channel. They involve removing older jetties and having instead a single longer one and a separate pontoon in the channel.

You can read more about the Conservancy proposals here and if you wish respond to the consultation which closes on May 18 2022. The ISC proposal has already been decided however if you want to find out more about it the planning documents can be viewed here.
