Summer Fun Sailing for Juniors

WWSC is pleased to announce our first official Club-supported sailing events for 2020. WWSC Instructors will be running 4 days of fun sailing for Juniors split into two days for Optimists (and equivalents) on the 6th and 7th of July followed by two days for Toppers and fast fleet single-handers (Lasers, Picos, Zests etc) on the 8th and 9th of July. STOP PRESS: We have now added a further opportunity for Oppie sailors on 9th and 10th July.

These have been designed around the Covid-19 restrictions using the "1+5" (1 instructor to 5 trainees) group size that complies with current regulations. We trialled this approach successfully with a group of Oppie Club sailors earlier in June. As explained in the updated Junior Programme pages on our website, we hope to extend this approach further to enable a "Covid-compliant" Junior Week at the end of July.

We hope it may also be possible to devise a new racing format that is consistent with current guidance and RYA advice. If so, we will work to enable it to be used during the Regatta Week period and may extend this slightly to maximise the numbers of members who can take part.
