RO training and practice race.
Steve Marks, Keith Russell and Guy Russell will be running our annual Race Officer (RO) training and practice race. This session is for all members who wish to learn how races are managed at WWSC and is the ideally suited for 'first timers' and those considering a race management duty, including Assistant RO. It will also be useful for those experienced hands who wish to have a refresher. No previous experience is required. (All members who race regularly should be able to act as RO and may be asked to do so; please take advantage of this training opportunity.) The session will also provide a briefing on a revised risk assessment protocol which ROs will be asked to implement this season.
Format: 'Dry' instruction in the Club Hut starting at noon followed by on-the-water practice (weather permitting; to finish by ~15:15)
Required: Please read the Race Officer Instructions in advance of the session. Bring proper attire for an April on-the-water session, including buoyancy aid. Warm drinks will be provided but please bring your own packed lunch, if required.

Note — sailors interested in practicing their starts and taking part in short races are welcome; the first race will start at approximately 14:00 (H.W. 14:31), weather permitting.
